Since its creation in 2013,

IL BOTTO FORTE is being received with exceptional enthusiasm and is constantly expanding its activity.

In 2014 the group was selected for the "Eeemerging" Ensembles in Residence Program hosted by the Ambronay Centre Culturel de Rencontre and in 2016 as a "Promising Ensemble" for the International Young Artist's Presentation at Festival Laus Polyphoniae in Antwerp.

 

IL BOTTO FORTE performed at the 2014 edition of Festival d'Ambronay, Bucharest Baroque Week 2014, Festtage Basel, the Telemann Institute in Magdeburg, Brunnenthaler Konzersommer 2015, Dominicans Music Spring in Prague, Berlin Friedenau concert series, Bad Homburger Shlosskonzerte, Festival Resonanzen Vienna 2016 and more.

Critics have praised the group's unique stlye and presentation and described it as an exciting addition to the baroque performence scene.

The ensemble's first CD, Palpiti del Cuore, dedicated to Italian baroque music, was recorded and published by the Austrian label Fra Bernardo.

Artistic Direction: Shai Kribus

Shai Kribus leads an extensive international career as a historical oboe and recorder player. He collaborates with groups such as the Freiburger Barockorchester, Ensemble Pygmalion, I Barocchisti, Orfeo 55 and Barockorchester Stuttgart and has performed as soloist with the Venice Baroque Orchestra, Les Passions de l'Ame, La Cetra Barockorchester and Barrocade – the Israeli Baroque Collective among others.

He studied music at ESMUC in Barcelona, at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel and at the Conservatorio di Verona in the classes of Alfredo Bernardini, Katharina Arfken and Paolo Grazzi (oboe) and Corina Marti and Pedro Memelsdorff (recorder).

Brought up in Israel, he has been a regular winner of the AICF scholarship competition in distinction with both oboe and recorder since the age of 16, selected an "outstanding musician" in the IDF and was a finalist in the 8th Johann Heinrich Schmelzer Competition in Melk, Austria.

Shai's first CD as a soloist, playing oboe and recorder concerti by A. Vivaldi, was published by Fra Bernardo June 2016.
